The Chimes

The Chimes comprises three main elements- a principal living/dining/kitchen wing clad in cedar, a bedroom wing with four bedrooms finished in rendered brickwork and a garage wing. The main entrance is expressed as a flat roofed link with display wall between the living and bedroom wings. Flood risk considerations led to an elevated floor level, similar to the access road, which has resulted in distant views of the Bass Rock over the adjoining garden wall.

The house is super-insulated with underfloor heating from an air-source heat pump and whole house heat recovery ventilation.
